This Privacy Notice explains how HireMeAI (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal data when you use our website, AI tools, and services (the “Service”).

We act as the data controller for the personal data you provide through the Service.

  • Account data: name, email address, password hash, account role (job seeker or employer), and language preference.
  • Profile and career data: CV content, work history, education, skills, location, career interests, and job preferences.
  • Usage data: how you interact with the Service, feature usage, session data, device type, browser, and IP address.
  • Communication data: messages you send to our AI career chat, support requests, and feedback.
  • Payment data: transactions, subscription status, and plan details. We do not store your full card details — our payment gateway, PayFast, processes those.

2. How we use your personal data

We use your data to:

  • create and manage your account;
  • provide, personalise, and improve the Service (including AI-generated CVs, cover letters, and career advice);
  • match job seekers with relevant opportunities and help employers find suitable candidates;
  • process payments, subscriptions, and refunds;
  • send service updates, interview reminders, and relevant notifications;
  • keep the Service secure and prevent fraud or abuse;
  • analyse usage so we can build better features.

3. Legal basis for processing

We process your data based on:

  • Contract performance: to provide the Service you signed up for, including paid subscriptions.
  • Legitimate interests: to improve our product, keep it secure, and communicate with you about the Service.
  • Consent: where required, for example for analytics cookies or marketing emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation: when we are required to comply with applicable law or respond to lawful requests.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • Service providers: hosting, analytics, customer support, and email delivery services that help us run the Service.
  • Payment gateway (PayFast): for payment processing, recurring billing, and refund handling.
  • Professional advisers: legal, accounting, or compliance advisers when necessary.
